Enemy Prefab

The below short video demonstrates using the new enemy prefab inside editor. The same prefab is instantiated when building scenes procedurally. There’s a lot more I want to do with this, including the ability to override classic billboard-based enemies with full 3D models.

  1. Fantastic stuff, I’m really enjoying the progression of this project. With regards to using 3D characters, would it be possible to do the sort of half-way thing as seen in Terra Nova Strike Force Centauri? That had billboard sprites applied over a 3D skeleton, looked really cool.

  2. That sounds awesome, will need to check that out in more detail. At the end of the day you could feed in whatever prefab you liked, would just need to code it up the usual way. I’m trying not to limit anything other developers do.
